FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BubbleLife Media Expands Editorial Staff

New neighborhood editors complement automated news gathering

DALLAS, June 15, 2011 — BubbleLife Media’s automated hyperlocal news gathering is going to be getting some human help with the recent addition of new editorial staff aimed at continuing to improve the newsletters for readers. Saffie Farris, BubbleLife Publisher, said “The new editorial team gives us a much better ability to build the relationships so vital to reporting neighborhood news.” Supervising the editorial team will be Chris Kelley, a veteran journalist who, among his many accomplishments, was the first editor of DallasNews.com for the Dallas Morning News.

Joining Chris will be:

  • Stephen Lu, an SMU graduate who has written for SMU’s The Daily Campus, the Plano Star Courier and the Dallas Morning News website.
  • Matthew Cobb, a Texas Tech graduate who has written for the Texas Tech newspaper The Daily Toreador, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and Lubbock Magazine.
  • Courtney Lowe, a University of Nebraska graduate who has produced and written for Gray Television, News21, HuskerVision and WOWT Channel Six News in Nebraska.
  • Sarah Griffith, a Baylor University graduate who has written for Baylor university publications, Midway ISD Education Foundation and Hometown News in Waco.

“The growing popularity of BubbleLife neighborhood websites is creating more content and requiring more editorial oversight. The editorial team helps us make sure the reader always has the best news site possible and fills in any gaps in automated coverage.” said Saffie Farris.

The BubbleLife neighborhood websites will continue to rely on automated news gathering for the majority of their content. The combination of automation with human editorial control is proving to be a winning combination for neighborhood readers.
